Most of us, at least theoretically, think forgiveness is a good thing, but what is it really?
Are there things that are unforgiveable? For us? For God?

This Sunday, through Fr. Nevsky’s sermon, we refle This Sunday, through Fr. Nevsky’s sermon, we reflected on one of the most familiar and comforting images in the Gospel: Jesus as the Good Shepherd.

But beyond the peaceful image of green pastures, we were reminded that this is not a sentimental picture. It is one of courage, sacrifice, and deep, personal love, a shepherd who knows each sheep by name, and whose voice they recognise.

At the heart of this image is calling, vocation.
To be called by God is not reserved for a select few, nor only for ordained ministry. Each of us is called, in the midst of our daily lives, work, relationships, and responsibilities, to listen for God’s voice and to respond.

We are not called to do extraordinary things in dramatic ways, but to do ordinary things with extraordinary love.

As part of this shared calling, we also marked an important moment in the life of our church:
Richard and Monica made their declarations and were admitted as Churchwardens, taking on this ministry of service and responsibility within our community. Please keep them in your prayers as they begin this role.

The Good Shepherd is calling each of us.
May we learn to recognise His voice and follow.

Fr Nevsky's book, Ways of Seeing, was launched at Fr Nevsky's book, Ways of Seeing, was launched at @librariile_carturesti yesterday evening. Fr Nevsky spoke about the ways we can encounter God and one another in opening ourselves up to the richness of other Christian traditions, and his book offers a bridge to help Anglicans (and others) to understand better Orthodoxy.

We had a lively discussion and copies are available from Cărturești & Friends!
